As a problem-solving pundit, he has set his standards very high, and will continue to work towards an end goal until the vision has become realized. With a background in hospitality, politics, higher education, financial technology & payments, corporate global HR, corporate finance, and corporate global transformation sectors, Tom has a history of quick, on the spot knowledge and understanding that can keep with the status quo or disrupt it if the situation calls for it. His educational background reinforces his understanding that hard work, dedication, and perseverance can ultimately change any situational outcome as long as one tries. Moreover, his hospitality background augments his appreciation for detail and excellence during every task. Additionally, his political background has engaged his respect towards the idea that maintaining the public's interest and priorities should be at the center of every decision. Career experience

August 2022 - Present

Executive Assistant

Support the overarching Americas Finance Leadership Team, including the CFO, Functional CFO, Controller, FP&A Director and their staff; while in tandem supporting the VP, Global Transformation and their team :

​

  • Maintain schedules and materials for meetings and conferences; make adjustments based on changing priorities.

  • Prepare communications and materials for the supported executive population; consolidate reports and materials for leadership meetings, including senior business reviews.

  • Manage logistics, invitations, agendas and records for key meetings (senior leaders meeting, all-employee meetings, etc.) to ensure a seamless execution and delivery.

  • Schedule domestic and international travel and make arrangements; prepare meeting and travel itineraries; monitor and complete expense reports in a timely manner.

  • Lead the Finance Engagement Committee to enhance the workplace experience. 

  • Lead the Americas Volunteer Committee to continue our commitment to our community. 

  • Key stakeholder in the restructuring/renovation of the Americas Headquarters site.

  • Process purchase orders and invoices; including communicating with vendor and tracking through payment and closure.

  • Analyze complex information and requests of the financial sector to ensure efficient outcomes.

  • Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Interface with all levels of the organization and with external customers in a professional and effective manner.

Early Careers Coordinator - HR

In this role, I supported the following for the Early Careers Team and the broader HR function:

  • Support administrative needs of Senior Managers and Directors in providing advanced office support.

  • Organize communication on behalf of Early Careers team to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Produce extensive Excel and PowerPoint documents for weekly reporting including data across quarterly and annual metrics.

  • Collect and process invoices for up to 5 figure contracts via procurement and supply chain.

  • File expensing reports and reimbursements for both full time and contract employees.

  • Harmonize domestic and international travel for Early Careers team for seamless operations.

  • Coordinate Orientation and Graduation, Focus School events, and local events for Early Careers.

  • Project coordination between Carrier and Universities to identify qualified candidates for leadership programs, namely through university events such as career fairs and workshops.

  • Synchronize complex scheduling for senior leadership interviews across business units.

  • Maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with all materials, and exercise discretion when interfacing within the business.

  • Focus on autonomous working, while proactively identifying needs and taking ownership of such projects while employing strong attention to details.

Executive Assistant To Chief Executive Officer

In my capacity, I benefited the organization through the following:

  • Planed and orchestrated work to ensure the CEO's priorities were met, organizational goals were achieved, and best practices were upheld, in concert with the needs of the entire C-Suite.

  • Managed professional and personal scheduling for CEO, including agendas, mail, email, calls, travel arrangements, client management, reservations and other company and personal logistics.

  • Coordinated complex scheduling and extensive calendar management for all of C-Suite.

  • Managed, coordinated, and arranged senior executives’ travel and travel-related activities, including hotel booking, transportation, meal coordination, event schedules, and local meetings.

  • Handled administrative needs of executives and provide office support across the C-Suite.

  • Organized team communications and plan events, both internally and offsite.

  • Managed facilities, maintenance, and supplies for a 55,000 sqft. facility; including demo/reno, external vendors, and city/county compliance/interface.

July 2019 - May 2021

Administrative Assistant to the President

This role was responsible for assisting with the daily operations and administrative support for the President. It enabled me to provide exceptional customer support on behalf of the Office of the President and maintain an office environment that is responsive to the needs of the university's internal and external partners and other stakeholders.

  • Manage calendars for the President and provide supplemental calendar support for Vice Presidents.

  • Resource logistical support for all engagements.

  • Serve as a liaison between the Office of the President and internal and external offices.

  • Manage the Office of the President Student Experience program.

  • Coordinate and support major events and presidential engagements.

  • Maintain assets owned and operated by the Office of the President.

  • Track expense reports and reimbursements for executives and staff.

  • Coordinate the signing of sensitive and notarized documents.

  • Produce formatted and branded correspondence from the Office of the President for executives and staff.

  • Ensure proper document management and safekeeping.

  • Monitor and maintain safety and health protocols in direct response to global pandemics and localized outbreaks.

  • Manage front of house operations and staff.

  • Lead a team of 5 staff members for strategic projects.

April 2016 - July 2019

Legislative Assistant to the Vice President

Supported two Vice Presidents in various capacities, including:

  • Redesigned the Legislative Scholars Program to become streamlined to allow for a diverse, highly-qualified student talent pipelines across multiple top-ranked colleges.

  • Orchestrated the entirety of the marketing mix for the Legislative Scholars Program. 

  • Training the UCF Legislative Scholars cohort representing UCF in the Florida Legislature, executive offices, and various lobbying firms. 

  • Assisting in fulfilling legislative duties and priorities as designated by senior university officials by advising them of trends, events, and best practices using various measurables.

  • Coordinating major events on behalf of UCF for government officials.

  • Supplementing logistical efforts for senior university officials.

In collaboration with the Florida Forensic Institute for Research, Security, and Tactics, the Florida Alliance to End Human Trafficking developed a training course that focuses on detecting human trafficking, best practices for reporting human trafficking, and the interventions and treatment for survivors of human trafficking.
